While people like Kamal Haasan and Aamir Khan are still licking every feet to land an international honor, Rahman has really proved that art transcends barriers, linguistic included - the man is a legend, an unsung one at that. Today confidently, we can proclaim that the most prodigious talent from Tamizh Naadu is A.R. Rahman, Period!!!
And now, the billion people can applaud the genius - The Mozart from Madras!!!

With you there is an inevitable dumbness about your criticism that is blind and unwarranted. When did you see them "lick every feet"???
Criticism can be constructive or non constructive, not dumb. But I know hero worship is blind and misguided fan-boys who are so blinded by their love, that they call egoistic self praise farts as great efforts. And the typical response from fan- boys of K.H and A.K would b to pull R.K or S.R.K respectively. Ellam nera kodumai.
I agree there are people because of whom adulation exists. Kamal and Aamir have made both made dreadful movies. It is required to correct them when they go wrong. What I found dumb in your criticism is your alluding to Kamal and AK's efforts. ARR has a channel that carries him world-wide while the others do not.
Look, everyone are happy that ARR won it. In a time for rejoicing, pointing out someone hasn't done it yet sounds dumb. Everyone can't.
